Carriage of Fencing Equipment on Eurostar

Following latest advice from the UK government control authorities, Eurostar has changed its regulations for the carriage of fencing equipment, such as foils.

"In the past, Eurostar has allowed passengers to carry fencing equipment (foils, etc) in their luggage. However, latest security advice from the UK government is that such items should now only be carried by Eurostar as registered baggage.
"This means any passengers wishing to travel on Eurostar with fencing equipment must check it in at Euro Despatch - Eurostar's registered baggage service. Euro Despatch should be advised at least 24 hours before travel. The equipment will be transported in a secure area of the train and can then be collected from the baggage reclaim areas in Paris, Brussels or Lille.
